HM57 heat mat is designed like its bigger brother HMLS. The smaller size allows it to fit a multitude of applications.
3M adhesive on the back of the mat is used to apply the mat to the oil pan.

Caution when applying the mat that once the adhesive sticks it cannot be removed.
Dry burn failures, like the image above, will occur when an air gap occurs between the mat and the surface it is being applied to.
Mats should be installed onto a flat surface.
If installing onto an irregular surface, internal wires may break and cause premature failure.
